Raising Readers Read-a-thon and Fundraiser
Update May 2022: We are in the process of making our first purchase using funds from the Raising Readers fundraiser! We are ordering a 12 month subscription to Pebble Go! This is for K-6th graders and is a database used for research and learning on topics like animals, social studies, science, biographies, state & American Indian studies, and health. There is also a Spanish component. Students will be able to use this in the library, in their classroom, and at home!
The PTSA would like to thank everyone for their support of our Raising Readers Read-a-thon and fundraiser. We are overwhelmed by the amazing generosity of the Beechwood community.
We raised over $33,000 for our new school library, reading support, and subscriptions! Students in preschool through 6th grade read 9,561 books/chapters.
Raffle tickets from reading logs were pulled and 7 students won a prize basket. An additional 204 students won a free book. Mrs. Schleusner's 3rd grade class won an ice cream sandwich party for reading the most (863 books/chapters). Mrs. Gasser's 5th grade class also won an ice cream sandwich party for raising the most money.
