Welcome New Families!
We know it can be overwhelming jumping into a new school and community. To help make a smooth transition, we've compiled a list of ways to stay up to date and connected.
A few quick tips to get you started out on the right foot:
- The Beechwood Community is on Facebook!
- Beechwood PTSA: Representing Beechwood parents. teachers and students, this page will keep you updated on various programs, events and initiatives designed to support the students in our community.
- Beechwood Parents Unite: Specifically for people with children in the Beechwood school district (K-12) to share and seek information. This page is not administered by the school but supports a very large parent population!
- Class of 20xx: Each class usually has a designated page where parents can discuss relevant topics in more of a closed group.
- Check out Tiger Talk for Elementary updates - a weekly newsletter emailed every Tuesday to parents and students. It will have upcoming events, program registration links, important school information and more!
- For high school parents - Check out the Beechwood High School (BHS) Newsletter
Please feel free to email your PTSA Board with any questions!

Below are additional programs available to you.
Mentor Family Program
Established Beechwood Family: Want to Be a Mentor to a New Beechwood Family?
Are you friendly and responsive? Do you like to meet new people? Have you been at Beechwood long enough to be able to answer questions for new families? If so, please sign up to be a mentor family to a family brand new to Beechwood.
We will do our best to match new families to mentor families that have kids in the same grade. We will reach out to you this summer/beginning of school year if there is a new family that matches well with your family.
We will match you up via e-mail and provide phone numbers and the rest is up to you all. If you want to meet in person, talk on the phone or text about questions or just share what to expect in the first year at Beechwood that is up to you and the new family.
Questions about this? E-mail [email protected]

Families New to Beechwood: Would You Like to be Paired with an Established Beechwood Family?
Are you new to Beechwood? Do you have lots of questions - what time should I get in car line, what is the EDGE Program, who toilet papered the front lawn (a Beechwood senior tradition), can I volunteer in the classroom, who do I contact for insert your purpose?
Of course Beechwood's web site has lots of information, but sometimes it's nice just to have a person to ask these questions of and a friendly face that you'd recognize at school events.
If you are interested in having the PTSA pair you with an established Beechwood family, please complete the Google form below. We will try our best to pair you with a family that has kids in the same grade as your kids, when available. We will reach out over the summer/early in the school year to introduce you to your mentor family via e-mail and share phone numbers too. Then the rest is up to you - you can get together in person, just text/call with questions, etc.
